AutoHotKey is free software that allows Windows users to define keyboard shortcuts, and example scripts are provided here for use with Family Historian (versions 6 and 7). Save either example script to your Documents folder and rename it to AutoHotKey.ahk and it will be automatically invoked the next time you login.

For Use with Version 6

This offers ƒh V6 shortcuts to open each Records Window tab with the search filter selected. Hold down the Windows Logo key while clicking the initial letter of a tab: I, F, N, S, R, M, or P. It also transposes the case of any selected text using Windows Logo key plus T even outside ƒh.

For Use with Version 7

Script 1

This offers ƒh V7 shortcuts to open each Records Window tab with the search filter selected. Hold down the Windows Logo key while clicking the initial letter of a tab: I, F, N, S, R, M, P, T for Source Templates or E for Research Notes.

Clicking other letters opens other dialogues: Q opens a Query Window, A opens the View > Publish Menu, W opens View > Record Links where used, C opens View > Citations to Source Record, D opens Tools > Fact Types definitions, and X opens Tools > E’X’ternal File Links.

It also transposes the case of any selected text using Windows Logo key plus Esc even outside ƒh.

These are additional keyboard shortcuts to the existing “AutoHotkey script for V7” above. You should be able to run it instead of the original as it includes all those items.

All instructions are included in the comments in the script, just open as a text file.
