* Property Box Tab double-click does not Import

FH V5 allows Property Box Tab (.fhpbt) customisation files to be Imported and Exported.

Just like any other Imports & Exports, double-clicking on such a file in Windows Explorer should invoke the FH Import.
However, this does NOT work, because the File Association Table (FAT) entry for .fhpbt appears to be faulty.

The FAT entry must exist because the file Type is given as FamilyHistorian.PropertyBoxTab rather than FHPBT File.

Using right-click Open with... and associating with FH V5 creates an entry that allows the double-click Import to work.

I believe the original problem is a bug in FH V5.

I have diagnosed this problem, which is caused by a mistake in the Windows Registry data for the FH Property Box Tab file type.

The Registry entry for .fhpbt is FamilyHistorian.PropertyBoxTab.

But the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT entry is FamilyHistorian.PropBoxTab.

The solution is to copy the following code into a plain text file called say fhpbt.reg (the .reg extension is crucial).

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREClasses.fhpbt]
@='FamilyHistorian.PropBoxTab'

Then from an Administrator account double-click the fhpbt.reg file.
ONLY DO THIS IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH CHANGING THE WINDOWS REGISTRY.

I'm on XP and my current registry entry is already as in the suggested fhpbt.reg file.

Peter, you are absolutely right - I have just checked my Windows XP laptop.
So the problem only afflicts Windows 7 and Windows Vista both 32-bit and 64-bit.
