If you want the boxed version you can use the My History link at the top.

For the download version that can only be purchased direct on the Family Historian main site.

Will FHUG get it's contribution to funds. I try to buy all my FT stuff via the FHUG Shop site.

Yes if you buy anything from the My History links, FHUG get a percentage as it does if you purchase on Amazon via the links here.

Thanks for purchasing via the Amazon links where you can it really helps with the costs of running the site.

Amazon says FH5 is not available until 20th April. Also they seem to be charging a lot more - £41 as against £36 at TWR. Is this because of the percentage for FHUG?

Also meant to add - I guess we'll be needing a V5 usage section now....?

Amazon and TWR/My History set their prices, I don't think the % to us has anything to do with the way the prices are. My History also sell via Amazon I think.

Just buy where suits you best, but follow the link from here if there is one to the site you want to buy from.

You can always make a donation to FHUG directly if you want to.

I've just purchased the full version (not upgrade) as a download.

The instructions suggest that I can just install it over my existing v4, and it will upgrade it. Does this mean that it will preserve all my existing settings (custom diagrams, flags, queries etc), or do I still need to back these up and then restore them?

You are correct.
Install V5.0 over V4.1 and all your settings, custom data, preferences, etc will be retained.

Mine arrived here in beautiful sunny Dorset this morning too, now do I cook lunch, sit in the sun or play with my new upgrade - no contest, the upgrade comes first!

Margaret.
