What was the problem???
Is it something the Plugin could fix for itself???

Jane, I have made a number of changes to cope with various scenarios such as image cropping boundary conditions, non-image media files, missing files, missing filename, '&' in filename, Progress bar Cancel button, etc.
I plan to E-mail the updated version to you when I have finished a few more checks.

Thanks Mike,
I have done a few fixes myself, (new version in store) so I'll take a look at your version and see what overlaps there are.

Hi Mike
I'm afraid I spoke too soon. I'd only tested it with a portion of my database, but now I have tried it with the full file I get another error message right at the end of the process: 'plugin failed to complete
.....Convert File Links.fh_lua:209: No Object Data Found

Yes, I have had error that too, and fixed some causes.
I have continued working on the Plugin, and Jane has been making changes too.
Let us compare notes, and when the updated Plugin is in the Plugin store, give it another go.
I think we have made some significant progress.

To help diagnose the source of the error message:
....Convert File Links.fh_lua:209: No Object Data Found
perhaps the statement:
error('No Object Data Found')
should be replaced with:
fhMessageBox('No media file data found for Multimedia Record Id '..fhGetRecordId(rcdPtr)..' ASID '..strASID)
....Convert File Links.fh_lua:209: No Object Data Found
perhaps the statement:
error('No Object Data Found')
should be replaced with:
fhMessageBox('No media file data found for Multimedia Record Id '..fhGetRecordId(rcdPtr)..' ASID '..strASID)

Hi Mike
I've done that & got the message :no media file data found for Multimedia Record Id 914 ASID 3. I've checked the record in question but there seems to be nothing wrong with it. I don't know what the ASID 3 means or how to check that.
Regards
Michael

Michael, perhaps the new Plugin, when published, will fix the underlying problem.
Best wait until it is available, and check again then.
The suggestion to change the statement was aimed more at Jane than Michael.
Short of examining the GEDCOM file in a text editor, there is not much you can do, Michael, for the moment.

Michael, there is now Convert File Links V1.4 in the Plugin Store.
This incorporates various updates that hopefully should handle all your images.
Please give it a try.
