In an All Relatives diagram, some relatives do not appear in the same line as their brothers/sisters, but appear slightly below. I'm not sure if this is to save space in the display, but I would like these to stretch out across the diagram so that they stay in line in the same generation bands.
How do I change the diagram do this.

You can't currently, but it is on the wish list.
The reason they are shown below is that they are your direct ancestors, if you turn on the Generation labels you will be able to see why they are on a separate line.
If you want them to appear in both places you can turn on the proxy boxes all the time.
