Query Row Expression length limitation

Post by tatewise » 20 Aug 2010 20:25

I am trying to build a Query Window > Rows tab > General tab Expression: using functions.
With the new FH4 Functions that operate on Fields and the And & Or operators these expressions can be quite long.
However, the Expression: field appears to be limited to about 90 characters, which severely restricts functionality.
There is no error message, there is just a beep when I try to enter too many characters, and no more characters are accepted.
The limit seems to apply to every Query Type such as Individual, Source, Fact, etc.
No such limit applies to the Value: field, nor the Columns tab Heading: and Expression: fields.
Any help would be appreciated.

Query Row Expression length limitation

I have met this one and reported it to Calico.

The work around for now is to press the ... button and paste the text into that box, it's then recorded correctly.

Thank you Jane, that workaround works fine.
