I've recently acquired a photo of the cottage where my Gt Gt Grandparents lived for many years, and where many of their children were born.
I'm struggling to decide where would be the best place(s) to link this to so that it doesn't just get lost in amongst all the other image files that I've got. I don't particularly want it to display in diagrams, but in reports would be quite nice.
Maybe a fact (standard/custom?) that's copied in to all of the relevant individuals record, with the photo attached? What do others think/do?
Thanks, David

I would create a new source record and attach the photo to it. I can then attach the source to the birth events for the various people who were born at the cottage. In a more general case, a residence attribute could be created with a citation to the source.

I'd do as Jon suggests. Source for the cottage with any information you have about the cottage itself recorded in the source text. Images of the cottage linked to the source. Residence facts for each individual to show when they lived there each with a citation linked to source.
Ideally it would be possible to have a 'place' record rather than needing a source but sadly GEDCOM doesn't have this and Family Historian hasn't extended to allow this. You can vote for it in the wishlist though:
