I want to create reports without the media images, but am a little confused as to what does what. Let me explain.
Lets assume I want to ommit a baptism record image, if I go to the 'Multimedia' tab of an individual and select the image, edit then tick the 'Exclude from Diagrams and Reports' boxes that seems to do the trick, but when I go to the 'Facts' tab and select 'Baptism', click on the button 'Show Media' then edit, the 'Exclude from Diagrams and Reports' boxes are not ticked. If however, I do it the other way round i.e check the boxes in the facts tab, but leave them unchecked in the multimedia tab, the image still shows up in a report. If I only check the boxes in the facts tab, what, if anything, does it do? [confused]

If you are trying to turn picture on/off globally then use the Report/Pictures tab to control how many pictures are shown.

Creating a Report without Images
If you want to exclude all images from a particular report, it's probably easier to use the Report Options... Pictures tab and set the Max Pics to zero and untick the 'Include Pictures' boxes.
A picture can be linked to an Individual, a Family, or an Event, and it is the link that carries the Exclusion flag(s). I think there may be a tiny bug because, as mentioned above, ticking an exclusion box on the Edit Media Item window (via the View/Edit Media window from the Facts tab) sometimes has no effect. This happens when there is no Link/Note field. It seems that the Link/Note field, which is needed to hold the exclusion flag, can only be created form the Multimedia window. Please can Jane and/or Simon check on this?

Thank you Gerry and Peter for your quick response. Turning the pictures off globally is exactly what I want to do, so much easier than trawling through each individual image and turning them off that way. Using the Picture Tab in the Report Options did work to a degree, but I still had the images in the Source section of the report. I found out I needed to go to the Source Tab in the Report Options to turn them off there. [smile]

Yes of course, I should have mentioned that images for Sources have to be excluded separately.
I've re-checked what I said about the Edit-Media-Item window. In fact the Exclude-from-Diagrams check-box works OK, and creates a Link/Note field if necessary, but the Exclude-from-Reports check-box cannot, which I think is a bug. Once the Link/Note field has been created, then both check-boxes seem to work OK.
