Hello,
Is there any way of finding entries that have inexact dates - dates that are simply a year e.g. 1847 without day and month or any qualifier such as Calculated or Estimated ?
I'm trying to tidy up my File and a lot of dates that I entered (before I knew better!!) are inexact and really need to be qualified as Calculated.
Any suggestions as to how to best do this or even better how to write a query to find such dates would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Peter

Finding Inexact Dates
I think you can do this using a query quite simply just use the :DAY qualifier and exclude unless null, you could do this on a Fact Query to find all the Facts or on V3 an individual query and select the Facts you want to look at.
Additionally you might want to add in facts where the :LONG version contains a ( so you catch the ones with Computed or Approx as well.

Finding Inexact Dates
Hi Jane
The FH4 Fact query works a treat. I have also added filters that exclude dates with the text (est) (app) (cal) and Q
That way I get a list of the inexact dates that I need to flag as such. I'm quite happy to have calculated dates from a Census or a date to the nearest Quarter from the BMD as long as I know that's where they have come from.
I just wish I'd thought of all this years ago when I started keying the stuff in !!!
Thanks for your help & have a terrific New Year
