Changing incorrect parent

Post by garethglyn » 18 Jun 2009 10:17

Is there a quick way of changing the link between parent and child? An ancestor of mine married twice, and some of the children from his first marriage have mistakenly been input as being issue from his second marriage, so I want to show the children as having the same father as now, but a different mother (she is already in the tree).

Is it a matter of deleting records and then reinputting them all over again in the correct place?

Just select the child and on the all tab right click on the family as child record.

Then select the Replace and select the second marriage family from the list.

That is sooooo clever and quick! Thanks so much for the solution, which I'd never have worked out for myself.
