Conditional fields in queries

Post by quarlton » 13 Mar 2004 09:48

Is it possible to make the value returned in a column conditional?

e.g.
If INDI.FAMS[1]>MARR[1].DATE:YEAR NAME[1]:SURNAME
else
    ''

The aim here is to only show the spouse's surname if the marriage date was before 1861.

Useful when researching the census.

Have you ever noticed that no matter how good the software, we still want more [smile]

Conditionals are on the wish list.

I can only suggest another column with the date in, for now. Sorry

Hi Jane

Thanks for the reply.
I'll just have to be patient won't I?

BTW
Is there a way of telling which items I've voted for on the Wish List, or will it prevent me voting twice?

Dave

Not at the moment, but I keep thinking I need to re-write the voting system, but I have not yet found the time to settle down and do it.
