I have successfully managed to customise the records window with the columns of my choice, through reading the instructions on here, although I cant find a way to print it. The print and print preview is greyed out.
Am I missing something or is there a simple way do a print out of the records window. I need this if possible to be transferred to a spreadsheet before printing, or if this cant be done, just print out as it is.
I am after the certain columns to take the information to record offices and I could do this on Family Tree Maker.
Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks
Marilyn

As you have already customised the record window, just go to the column customising screen and use the option to save the column layout as a query.
Give the query a name and then from the View/Custom Query menu select and your query and then press the print button.

Thanks for that Jane, have now managed to print with your help but would really like to save to a spreadsheet so I can filter out places etc., and reorganise. Is this possible.
Thanks again

Yes, when you have the query displayed click on the Save icon (on the right) and save as a .CSV file, this can then be opened in any spreadsheet program.
or simply select all the cells and copy to the clipboard and paste to a spreadsheet.
Of course you can use the query system it's self to filter any records you want.
