Undoing an existing person link

Post by Alanjc » 31 May 2008 22:23

Silly me, I've inadvertently linked an existing person (as a child) to the wrong parents! I've put him with the right parents too thinking I could simply 'delete' my mistake, but I can't find a way to do it.  Is there a way???
The link is a 'profound' one as it relates the whole of my side of the family with that of my wife's. We both had families (in quite separate parts of the country) who became mormons in the mid 1800's and emigrated to Salt Lake City... and a youngster from each got married. I couldn't believe it when I came across the marriage!... but I was a generation out when I made 'the link'! [cry]

Good morning Alan,

In the records window click on the child that you want to unlink, then go to 'Edit' about halfway down the list is 'Unlink From', this gives you the options that you are looking for. If you then choose the parents option you will get a list of the parents that the child is linked to pick the wrong parents and click 'OK'.

If I haven't explained very well, please get back, the list is always very helpful.
