Recording Titles like ';General Sir';

Post by tonyt » 03 Mar 2008 16:22

I've added a number of people to my tree who have titles such as 'Rt Hon', 'Reverand', 'General Sir', 'Sir' and was wondering how people tended to record this in FH please?

For now i've put it in front of their name and also added an occupation where appropriate to give more details

Is there a better way please?

Thanks
Tony

There's a box for Title on the Details tab of the properties dialogue, but I don't really know what the effect of putting something in it is.

(most of ours are ag labs )[tongue]

Doh! I missed that, thanks Chris. Will give it a go and see what happens

Most of mine are agg labourers too

It's just that i discovered that my 4 x gt grandfathers sister's son-in-law (a Judge in the Madras Courts) had brothers who had these titles (one was an MP who became secretary of the treasury in parliament and then became Govenor of Madras).

Theyre not blood related of course, but i decided to include them for the hell of it!

Thanks

Seems 'name prefix' is the one to use for this type of thing
