I've downloaded some page images of the 1901 census. Is there any way I can link these to a person or fmaily record - and have them displayed like a gif image.

The 1901 census images should be TIF not html. As such you can attach them in the same way as gif/jpg images. You can add html documents, but use the insert document option and then double click on the icon to open the web page in explorer.
