As a newbie(received FH on Tuesday, researching for 1 month), I would like any advice on how people use the info they have, eg I've received some certificates and am unsure how to tie all the various pieces of info to different people: occupations, addresses, witnesses etc.
The tutorials are very good at explaining how you do things, but I want to know the why, and in what circumstances.
Also, having loaded a file from Legacy, I would like some help on altering the sources from that file when more detailed info becomes available, eg BMD index locations where I don't order the certificates straight away.
If there are threads to help, please advise.

If you have not already done so take a look at the How To in the Links for Adding Data from a birth certificate.
For GRO Index info, I have one Source and use the where in source field for the reference.
Once I have a Cert, I simply remove that source and replace it with the Certificate Source.
