BTW: Probably not high on your agenda Jane, but have you overlooked my Postings not in best Forum topic?

When replying to topics it is often difficult to give a definitive answer without knowing which Operating System, which Product Version, and which Database Mode is applicable.
Might it be useful to add drop-down lists (similar to the Symbol list) that the originator can optionally select?
e.g.
Main OS:
   Windows 7 64-bit
   Windows 7 32-bit
   Windows Vista
   Windows XP
   Mac OS X
   Android
Version:
   FH 4.1.3
   FH 3.1.2
   FH 2.3.5
   AS 2.0.0
   AS 1.1.0
DB Mode:
   Project Mode
   Standalone Gedcom

I haven't overlooked it, but I don't have time at the moment to spend an hour or two finding all those posts and moving them.

I tend not to move posts as this forum software does not include a link to the new location so there is a danger the original poster will not be able to find the question. To re-write the forum software to support your idea will be far to much for me to do at the moment.

OK, just thought it might be a simple GUI change.
What about some plain text advising users that they may get more accurate responses if they include details of their
Operating System (Windows XP/Vista/7),
Product Version (FH4.1.3/FH3.1.2/FH2.3.5/AS2.0.0), and
Database Model (FH Project/Standalone GEDCOM/AS Method 1/Method 2)
