Flags and Icons

Post by loulou330 » 20 May 2012 23:40

Hi to you all,

I know that I've sought help on this subject before but I've upgraded to v5 and changed my computer and I seem to have lost my brain in the process.

I know that I need to right a query to be able to identify who has a 1911 census record but for the life of me I cannot remember what I need to do - I've re-read the posts I made and the help I received but nothing seems to make any sense

I need a complete idiots guide from beginning to end of what I need to do, you'll be pleased to know that I have be able to actually add the little icon to my diagram (that I could remember).

Help please

Many thanks

Loulou aka Mrs. Thicky

I guess these are the postings you refer to:
Flags
Flags and sources

It is probable that you do NOT have to write a Query and set Flags at all.
To set a Diagram Icon I would advise using a Box Condition with an Expression.
See Diagram > Options > Boxes tab Expression.

For full details see Using Flags and Icons.
Focus on Condition Expressions for Icons and examine the Worked Examples especially %INDI.CENS[year=1901]%.
