When I tried to create a CD on my laptop using windows vista all I got when I previewed it was a page of gobbledygook on notepad. It works fine on my desktop which is running on windows 7. I don't even know where notepad came from as I never use this. What's going wrong with my laptop and how can I fix it?

I suspect you have accidentally associated .html files with notepad rather than Internet Explorer.
Please use this walk through to set the default program for the html files.

If Jane is correct, then Notepad would have displayed something like:
So following Jane's advice, when you reach the Set your default programs screen, as shown in Figure C, select your preferred browser from the left-hand list, such as Internet Explorer or Firefox, then click Set this program as default lower right.
Code: Select all
<html>
<head>
<link rel='stylesheet' type='text/css' href='data/fhstyle.css'>
<script type='text/javascrypt'>
<!--
function delayer(){
window.location = 'data/index.html'
}
//-->
</scrypt>
<title>Loading...</title>
</head>
<body onLoad='setTimeout('delayer()', 1000)'>
<p>Loading page...</p>
<p>If page has not displayed in 5 seconds please <a href='data/index.html'>click here</a></p>
</body>
