Inadvertently I copied my ID's to Custom ID's. Is there any way of deleting Custom ID's on mass?
I know I can do it individually but that would take a very long time.
Secondly a relative of mine who is a graphic artist is creating some icons for me im .bmp format to use in FH and when I tried to use one, when it was loaded into FH and chosen the colours reversed so that a green background became light green and the text i.e. 'M' went clear white.
We have tried with RGP & Tiff formats but with no success. Is there a specific bit format in BMP or otherwise that should be used?

You can delete the custom IDs by creating a custom query listing all individuals, adding a column for Custom ID. (The expression is %INDI.REFN%). Then in the results set, highlight all cells in the Custom ID column and hit the delete key.
The following info in the Help files may explain the problem you are having with the icons:
'If you .... create your own icons, remember to save your image in bitmap (.bmp) format. Whatever colour appears in the top-left hand corner of the bitmap will be interpreted by Family Historian as transparent. So, for example, if the top-left corner is white, every white pixel in your bitmap will appear to be transparent when the icon is displayed in a diagram.'
So it looks as if the top left pixel is the crucial one.
I hope this helps.

Thank you Lorna.
ID's - It worked a treat.
I will relay the info re Icons on to see if that was the issue.

Further to the creation of Icons - I use a graphics package called GIMP (it's free). When creating some new icons with GIMP, I have discovered that bitmap images (.bmp) can have 'Colour Space information' included. If they do, then Family Historian will give an error :- 'cannot display icon' when using the Edit Features for a Record Flag.
If this information is not ncluded, then FH is happy
For further enlightenment (for the very technical) see :- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMP_file_format

Custom ID's & Icons
Is there a fact sheet that would give the technical details of the composition of icons so that if I was to start from scratch I would have a template. I am thinking of pixel dimensions; invisible borders or colours; rgb v cmyk v gif colour palettes and preferences for import. The list may not be exhaustive.
Or failing that can anyone expand an existing FH icon (say Jane's one for Marriage) which is 32x32 to something much larger which hopefully would show the details I need.
Several attempts by a relative of mine who works as a grphic designer have so far been unsuccessful.
