Why is it duplicating???

Why, when I open branches of my tree would it duplicate individuals, and link them with coloured lines?

I have restored the installation settings as i was rying to fix it, re-built the tree, and its still happening.

The people in question didnt marry into other lines of the tree, so they are not needed as a duplicate elsewhere.

It looks very messy like this, as so far as i can see there is no need for the duplication.
Please help

I am trying to upload a screen dump as an examlpe so that you can see exactly what i mean, but it keeps failing. Will keep trying.

I think I have an idea what it is doing, but I dont know why.
For some reason for my set of my ancestors a marriage is recorded twice (there are 2 marriage tabs).
How do I delete one of the tabs?

Select the person. Choose Edit->Unlink From->Spouse and choose the appropriate record to unlink from.
