Could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong?
I enter a new source and then right click to add link to new multimedia object. I can't seem to enter the format. I go the multimedia records window to try and enter it there, the type is and when I try to add jpeg it tells me 'Cannot change format. Object is in use.' Consequently it is unable to locate or display picture. The linked file has the correct file path.
The only way I can seem to enter it is by deleting this multimedia object and then re-enter via the Insert menu. Is it possible to do it via the source record window?

In v3, I never found a way. I developed the habit of only using the Insert Menu

See this post for the reason for the message and a possible, though awkward, way round it.

Just to add to my previous posting - if you have viewed an image and want to change its type you will need to close FH and restart it. That's why I say 'awkward'!

Thank you both for your replies. Glad I wasn't the only one to get the problem! I still can't get it to accept the format type, so I will have to stick to adding via the Insert Menu!
