To allow add-on functions to be integrated with Family Historian using the FH data without having to load and save the GedCom file (and without therefore having to save it first and reload it again afterwards in FH).
Specifically to allow people to write (and of course share) their own one-off or generalised bits of extended functionality that may be considerd out of scope, or too specialised, or just too low a prioity, to be part of the standard product.
My feeling is that if this were possible, a fair number of the existing wish list requests would be simply available here as add-ons.
