Time line and ';sort out'; list

Post by ian112 » 20 Jan 2008 17:09

Hi
I wish there could be an economic.political and social time line attached somewhere to family historian, this would enable the putting on of flesh for our ancestors.Secondly I wish there could be a button called 'sort out' i have found when i have combined 2 tress together and you click on the everyone button, you are faced with a spagette tree of hundreds of lines which takes you ages to sort out ie trying to get all the segments of the family tree in their correct places ready for printing. I hope that i have'nt missed anything?

Take care

Time line and ';sort out'; list

Ian, please check the existing wish list before posting here. The timeline function is already there.

It sounds like you are not doing the merge correctly. Do you mean you are getting lots of duplicates. My tree is far to large for using everyone diagrams, so I add the trees I need to a base All Relations diagram.

What exactly to you expect FH to do to 'sort out' your tree?

Time line and ';sort out'; list

Hi
Ive looked for the timeline and ive not been able to find it. I would like to divide my timeline into Ecomomic Social and Political history.
Secondly im doing my merging correctly(i think) but when i click on the 'everyone' Tree, because the tree is probably too large im faced with a spaghetti types of tree, all connected with lines, the sort out button would get every generation on the same line, instead of moving bits of family tree using the control box 'tree' button. Hope that makes sense

The time line chart wish list item is there, search for 'Timeline charts'.

As for sorting out, do you mean something like GenoPro's auto-arrange function? See http://www.genopro.com.
