Go Back should restore its parent Record context

Post by tatewise » 26 May 2010 14:18

FEATURE:
Go Back from any Record should restore the context of the parent Record it came from.
e.g.
Go Back from a Source Box should return to its linked Fact in an Individual Property Box.

SCENARIO:
Open any Individual Property Box with Facts citing Sources.
Select the Facts tab and select any Fact (except the first) that has a Source citation.
Click the Go To Source Record button in the Source Pane.
Click the Go Back button in the Source Record Box to return to the Property Box.

PROBLEM:
Always the first Fact (usually the Birth Fact) in the parent Property Box is shown selected.
In other words, Go Back does NOT go back to the Fact it is linked to and where started from.

WISH LIST SOLUTION:
The context of every Go To should be remembered and restored by the Go Back button.
e.g.
The original Fact linked to the Source should be selected on return via Go Back button.
Go Forward should similarly remember the context of each Record along the route.

I heartily agree with that. The current way of working is a pain.
