Individual death record apply to family

Post by BarbaraHaines » 12 Jun 2011 19:27

Would like to be able to link the death of an individual to the event record of other people. Just as a marriage record impacts multiple persons, so does a death (parents, siblings, spouse/s, children at minimum).

Presently, event record for spouse shows original marriage & remarriage, but not the death of the first spouse--seems that might be somewhat important to include.

Death of a parent/spouse/child/sibling can also explain much subsequent behavior & what events follow in the lives of those affected.

Thanks for considering this.

This already exists as Wish List item Reference 60 with Title of Ability to show deaths/marriages of close relations on the Events Tab.

Please follow the link below and vote for it.

Individual death record apply to family

I have created Custom events for

Death of spouse
Death of Mother
Death of Father
Re-marriage of parent

to cover these eventualities.

As you say these are important events in a person's life and it's interesting to record them.

Regards,

Maggie
