Transferring a List

Post by crockford » 09 Nov 2012 12:53

This question may have been asked before and there may be an answer somewhere on FHUG but I can’t find it.

On making up a New Project is there a way I can copy from my main Project the Occupation List and the Place List, and insert it into my new project as most of the details on these lists are needed for my new Project

Kind regards

Ken

The short answer is No, but read on, there may be a workaround.

You are talking about the Tools > Work with Data lists that are also presented when entering Occupation and Place field values.

These are not stand-alone lists, but are compiled dynamically from Occupation and Place fields in your data.

What you could do is use Publish/Report > Special Data Reports and Save Report As > Word-Processor Document (RTF).
Then you can Copy & Paste from those text documents into your Occupation and Place fields.
