Hi
I have recently discovered icons!
I am trying to distinguish between those who have an 1891 census entry in E&W and those with an 1891 entry in Canada.
The standard 1891 query works fine (year=1891) but, despite searching the FHUG help, I can't see how (best) to adapt it to reflect only Canada, where entries are also in 1891.
I have tried including a specific date, record ID no and/or specific text from the source name. Each and all give a nil result.
Clearly, I'm missing something obvious. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Many thanks
Tony

The key to this is the special [year=1891] index.
So the Expression in a Query, or Diagram Box Condition, or Records Window Column uses %INDI.CENS[year=1891]% or %FACT.CENS[year=1891]%.
Then add whatever other filtering works best for you:
%INDI.CENS[year=1891].DATE% and check for Canadian Census date.
%INDI.CENS[year=1891].PLAC% and check for Canada in the Place field.
%INDI.CENS[year=1891].SOUR>ABBR% and check for Canada in Source Short Title.
%INDI.CENS[year=1891].SOUR>TITL% and check for Canada in Source Name Title.
See related threads Missing icons in Diagrams (10107) and Individual Records Window (6696).
The second thread is quite long, but eventually will give you an insight into using Icons in Diagrams without needing a Query at all, providing you are using FH V4 or later.

Thanks Mike
That worked in a treat, in that I'm now getting some, but not all, of the Canadian census entries.
Obviously some data errors somewhere.
