Hi everyone,
I am brand new here & a new user of Family Historian. Here is my first question. I am working my way though the How to Tutorials. I was about to start on the 'Entering a Census' one. I attempted twice to download GedCom Census. Each time, when I tried to open it, I was told the file was corrupt and to re-install it. Do you have any idea why this is happening? I have a very slow dial up connection. Could that be the cause? Would that be the cause? Thanks, alywin

Trouble downloading GedCom Census?
Thanks Jane,
I use Foxfire & my cache is set to delete each time I disconnect, so that wasn't the problem. Oddly, on my 3rd try it came in fine. I made one change in procedure: I opened the file before I saved it. Whether that was what worked or whether the connection was just less shaky, who knows.
Next step, on day 6 of FH usage, I will see if I can follow the census entry tutorial and use the download. Cheers! alywil
