Upgraded 3.1 error

Post by neil40 » 18 Jun 2012 20:05

I upgraded from Version 3.0 to 3.1, and when I launch the new version, I get this error:

Error setting version of auto-text settings file. Erro: The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open.
. Settings File: 'C:UsersNeilDocumentsAncestral SourcesSettingsAutoText.xml

...update....

That error only happened when I ran the program straight after the upgrade to 3.1

If I close AS, and re-start it, there is no error, so not sure if it was anything to be concerned about.

Is it possible that the AutoText.xml file may have been temporarily locked by a file backup or synchronisation program?

See your point, but very unlikely.

I'd had AS 3.0 open before the upgrade, but it was closed when I did that upgrade.

Upgraded 3.1 error

Like Mike I'd guess at it being locked by another process - that's certainly what the error suggests, e.g. anti-virus, backup, or whatever.

If it is now working OK then probably nothing to worry about

Best wishes
