Trying out AS baptisms and marriages for the first time on a small test file, just to get familiar with them.
I've entered the baptism for the male of a couple, and with it his parents (neither sets of parents were entered directly in FH prior to this).
I'm now entering the marriage for the couple, where the cert lists both parties fathers.
The Ind. Father displays ok, as I'd entered it with the Ind's baptism.
I haven't yet entered a baptism for the spouse (testing the assumption that I haven't yet found it).
The Sp. Father is ticked, but name is greyed out (his occupation not greyed out and I can enter text).
I would have expected to be able to add the spouse's father at this stage, much as I can add parents for the first time during baptism entry. Quite often finding a marriage is the first time that parents are identified.
Am I missing something?

No you're not missing anything. Marriages are a complicated source and to make life simpler I made it so that parents can't be added directly into the main screen. You can, however, add the parent to the spouse using the 'Add Parents...' link and then add the spouse.
I may, in a future update, change this behaviour but I felt at the time that the many hours of additional development time it would have taken me to implement it didn't seem worthwhile.

Thanks Nick, I can stop wondering what I was doing wrong!
I completely understand and support your approach to development priorities - the bells and whistles can wait!
Cary on the great work that you do. [grin]
