Some users like the Occupation to be analysed using consistent attribute values.
Users also like the Narrative sentence in reports to be reasonable.
So for them neither
Ag[ricultural] Lab[ourer] nor
Unpaid Domestic Duties suits both purposes.
Whereas standardised
Agricultural Labourer and
Housewife do work for both cases.
Nevertheless, the Source record transcript would faithfully use whatever was in the Census document.
It works fine for me. My sentence is defined as "{date} {individual's} occupation was given as {value} <at {address}> {place} {age}".
For example, "On 15 Apr 1910 his occupation was given as driver in Clarinda, Iowa.

I'm not sure these work quite so well:
"On 15 Apr 1910 his occupation was given as Ag[ricultural] Lab[ourer] in Clarinda, Iowa."
"On 15 Apr 1910 her occupation was given as Unpaid Domestic Duties in Clarinda, Iowa."

I can't see anything wrong with those, if you're reporting what was said rather than stating what she was. (And purist would say we only know what was said

)

Perhaps for a daughter the occupation could be 'mother or father's help.'

On Scottish birth and death certificates, the address where the person was born or died initially is recorded on the 1st page and then recorded again on the 2nd page for their residence, as well as the mother and father in the case of a birth and in the majority of cases the address is the same.
Is it possible to let AS prefill the 2nd page of addresses but allow them to be amended if necessary?
In the next test version of AS (v7.7.5) to be released shortly, there are options (on by default) to duplicate the place of birth for birth records and place of death for death records over to the residence fields. These can of course be modified if they don't match. Thanks for the suggestion John.
