I have a number of fact sentence templates that have an extra period after the PLACE element when additional elements follow.

Gary, this was discussed at length some time ago and led to FH V17.0.17.1 introducing the {inline-note} code where you want Note text to be embedded within a sentence instead of starting a new sentence needing a period.
