Shouldn't do. They've kept the rmtree extension, so the new version probably just has some extra fields or tables.
The launch e-mail pinged into my inbox about an hour ago, so I've downloaded the free Essentials version and done a quick test. All the free version supports is the initial comparison, and that works fine. The AncestryTable that supports TreeShare looks identical after upgrading a copy of my RM8 file to RM9, so I'm increasingly confident that the plugin will not be affected by the upgrade.

That's good news - glad it hasn't created new work for you!! I have still to try the process, but am getting close to doing so now.

Mark, more on Living. I'm just working through a big update.
In the Update Guide research note, if death is being added or amended it is not necessary to say the Living Flag needs looking at. Omitting that from the list of changes in this case would make it clearer when it does need to be addressed (i.e. when there is no death event).

Re: Ancestry Synchronization now in Plugin Store
OK, thanks. I've already implemented a simple B/M/D export option, as it was just a few new lines of code, but tidying up names is a bit more work. It's worth doing though, as the reworked name tables are a more elegant solution. Inevitably, I think of better ways to do things as I get more familiar with the RM data model, but don't necessarily go back and redesign what still works!
