Nesting of queries

Post by martinpbudd » 29 Dec 2022 13:46

Every session I run around 15 queries which update named lists showing census and GRO information that is missing from potentially eligible people in my tree. These form my view of a To Do list. I do this each run as every Census entry can potentially remove several people from the list or add new ones. It is tedious to do 'Run Query....Save to Named List (Replace contents)....Rinse & Repeat.........

Is it possible to build a 'Master Query or Plugin' that will do this all at the press of one button?

I've scoured the forum and Wish List but can't see anything useful.

There is nothing built into FH that can automate those keystrokes.

The AutoHotkey utility might be able to define the sequence of keystrokes and thus automate the process.
See Autohotkey (AHK) "Productivity" shortcuts (19150) for some ideas.
Also, use the Search... box top right with AutoHotkey for links to other AutoHotkey advice.

Another option is to learn the Lua programming language and write your own FH custom Plugin to perform all those tasks automatically.

Thinking about this, macros in a similar style to those in Microsoft Access would be a great way of linking a series of tasks.
