Add query to View menu

Post by Valkrider » 20 Dec 2022 15:14

Is there any way to add a custom query to the View menu in the same way that a Plugin can be added to the Tools menu?

No, but you can put it in a Query Group so only one extra cursor movement is needed to run it.

Open your custom Query, and on the General tab, click the Group 1 droplist and choose <Add New...>
Say you choose to add Custom as the new group.
Then in the main toolbar click Query and hover over Custom to list your custom Query which can be clicked to run.

Any custom Query can be added to up to 3 Groups, so you can group them according to their purpose, with either standard Queries or custom Queries or downloaded Queries.

TIP
There are some groups already supplied, but if you want your group to appear at the top of the group list, just prefix the title with an underscore character, and it will be sorted first

Thanks for the replies, I had never explored the groups before, a good work around.
