Is there any way of generating an ancestor narrative report for a family instead of for an individual ?
You can generate an ancestors diagram, or ancestors & descendant diagram for an individual or a family but, as far as I can see, not a narrative report which is only for individuals.
I know that I could effectively do it by generating it starting with 1 of their children, but I don't want the narrative of that child to be included. The family in question had 11 children and I just want the report for the selected family & their ancestors, ie a paternal and maternal ancestors report, which I can then distribute to descendants of each of their children.
I know also that I could select the husband and wife and generate the report for both of them, but then it creates a lot of duplication for them especially if you include spouse notes etc plus 2 indices and 2 source lists.
Perhaps I have missed something obvious. I not hopefully someone can be more creative than me to achieve what I want.
Many thanks in advance

Yes, I see what you mean, but I don't believe there is a solution for you to use.

Re: Ancestor narrative report for family
If you select both the records for a single report and then change the Source tab to End of the Report, it will combine up the source listing.
You do get a little overlap on the two spouses, but the index and source lists are combined.

Thanks for the replies.
It seems like something that would be genearally useful for others so is it worth adding it to the wish list ?
