Re: Project window
Now use File Explorer and Cut and Paste just those Media .jpg files to your Project Media folder.
Preferably, keep the Media files in the same folder.
i.e.
Cut files from the census folder:
D:\Documents\Google Drive\Family Historian Projects\Rosser 010821\Rosser 010821.fh_data\Media\census
and Paste to the census folder:
C:\Users\johnw\Documents\Family Historian Projects\Rosser 100422\Rosser 100422.fh_data\Media\census
Finally, use Auto Repair Links and hopefully they should all move to Project Data Folder - Media.
The above method removes the files from the D: drive where FH is looking for them and puts them inside your Project folder so that FH can search and find them there.

Re: Project window
I have followed your suggestion: D:\Documents\Google Drive\Family Historian Projects\Rosser 010821\Rosser 010821.fh_data\Media\census
and Paste to the census folder:
C:\Users\johnw\Documents\Family Historian Projects\Rosser 100422\Rosser 100422.fh_data\Media\census
Finally, use Auto Repair Links and hopefully they should all move to Project Data Folder - Media.
The above method removes the files from the D: drive where FH is looking for them and puts them inside your Project folder so that FH find them there.
So I cut and pasted the census file from Google Drive on D to C Drive now auto repairing 15 broken links, repaired 13 and now doing 2 more, and a further 2 more; it's still showing 2 broken links ? I see the census file has been removed from D GD.
and Paste to the census folder:
C:\Users\johnw\Documents\Family Historian Projects\Rosser 100422\Rosser 100422.fh_data\Media\census

Re: Project window
Do I have to do this with all the files on D GDrive, I guess that I'll have to 'select' the individual jpgs and then cut and paste?

Re: Project window
You only need to Cut & Paste the files listed in the Tools > External File Links... command File Links on the D: drive.
Is the number of files listed in File Links on the D: drive reducing after each Auto Repair Links?
The files should eventually all move to Project Data Folder - Media with none listed on D: drive.
Are the 2 remaining broken links listed on the D: drive or Project Data Folder - Media?
A screenshot might help!

Re: Project window
They won't auto-repair if the Media files don't exist.
What I don't understand is why those 8 Census ... filenames have suddenly appeared in that Media folder.
They don't appear in any of your earlier screenshots.
Anyway, those 7 files that don't need repairing need to be Cut and Pasted as you have done with the others to Rosser 100422.

Re: Project window
Mike, I have cut and pasted the 7 files from D GD to C as directed; done another External files check and auto repaired the 7 successfully. Now having run it again there appear to be no broken links see:

Re: Project window
The media must be taking up loads of memory if it's on C, D and a separate file I have as photos?

Re: Project window
Well, none of your Media is on the D: drive anymore, because you just moved it all to the C: drive!
Does your photos folder actually contain duplicates of those Census, Marriage, and other document images?
Or does it only contain personal photos?
If you really want to then you could delete the duplicates, but disk storage these days is relatively cheap, so why worry.
They are useful as backup copies.
Are you now completely happy with your Rosser 100422 project data and Media?
If so, to avoid any future confusion, I strongly suggest you delete the two redundant Family Historian Projects folders:
D:\Documents\Google Drive\Family Historian Projects
C:\Users\johnw\Documents\Family Historian Projects\Family Historian Projects
BUT DO NOT DELETE
C:\Users\johnw\Documents\Family Historian Projects
as that holds your currently active Rosser 100422 project.

Re: Project window
Thank you Mike, my photos folder contains both types, so I'll keep that.
I've deleted the file from D Google Drive but am a bit confused about the 2 on C Drive as they look the same?

Re: Project window
Yes, they look the same because earlier we copied the project folders from one to the other.
The only folder that I'm not sure about is the Family Historian folder dated 02/06/2022, so please post a screenshot of its expanded contents before deciding it can be deleted.

Re: Project window
That is a backup of your custom settings taken last month.
So I suggest you Cut and Paste that Family Historian folder up into:
C:\Users\johnw\Documents\Family Historian Projects
Then you can delete:
C:\Users\johnw\Documents\Family Historian Projects\Family Historian Projects

Re: Project window
I 'cut' as you suggested bur was unable to paste it? Should I do another back up of settings?
However as you can see I have the following on C:\Users\johnw\Documents\Family Historian Projects:

Re: Project window
OK, first use File Explorer to delete the redundant Family Historian Projects folder:
C:\Users\johnw\Documents\Family Historian Projects\Family Historian Projects
Then use the Backup and Restore Family Historian Settings plugin to save your settings again.
You may have to use its Options tab to reset the Backup Folder to C:\Users\johnw\Documents\Family Historian Projects
