Media Cache

Post by neil40 » 22 Feb 2022 17:33

I reported in the v7 Beta testing, an issue where adding an image to an individual left a blank white box, but fixed itself if you navigated away and back, and you then got the 'mug shot' you'd created with 'Link to Face'

I noticed it happening again in 7.0.9 and reported it.
The response was
This is more likely to be a caching error, but I will log it for the developers
It also happened on a brand new laptop when my old one died, so unlikely to be cache?

The ticket was closed and I have yet to test it in 7.0.10, but is the only way to resolve 'Cache' to remove the Thumbnail file?
Seems an extreme thing to do for the less savvy Computer user?!

Are you referring to the Project's ...fhdata\Cache\ThumbCache.dat file that we regularly advise deleting from time to time, or some other thumbnail file?
I'm not sure what 'caching error' that CP were referring to as they are not specific.

There is also the Tools > Prferences > Geberal > Advanced... > Thumbnail Images setting that may play a part.

Yes I believe so, I've seen reference to this in several posts, but CP weren't too specific as you said.

Thanks. Will have to see if the problem continues
