Hi
Please excuse any non-technological langauge.
My old laptop died but not before I managed to do a FH Backup and Settings using the plugin.
I've installed V5 and then V6 and then any updates on the new laptop (to 6.2.7), with help from Calico Support - I'm not confident when it comes to such things. Family history - fine, technology - not.
I've tried running the restore part of the plugin only to get this message:
Major Version Mismatch... version 6.2.7.0 installed does not match version 5.0.11.0 Backup.'
My FH Backup and Settings is dated 13 Dec 2021 and I'd been using FH version 6.2.7 on the old laptop since it first became available. How can it possibly think it was made whilst using a V5 version of FH?
The stress of a new laptop and all that brings to us non-tech people, and a short break from all things family history explain the delay in getting to this issue. And somehow, I knew...
Any help gratefully received - thanks.
(Please note that my internet connection is poor, reading and replying to posts may be delayed.)

Re: Backup and Settings - Restore version mismatch
The process of migrating everything from an old PC to a new PC needs care.
What did you manage to copy across before the old PC died?
Were you able to follow the FHUG Knowledge Base Family Historian Copy and Migration Guide?
The Backup and Restore Family Historian Settings plugin has to be very careful about FH Versions because the customised settings are not necessarily compatible with different versions.
If the plugin is saying the backup you have chosen is from FH v5.0.11.0 then that is what it is ~ a very old backup.
Presumably, you used the Backup and Restore Family Historian Settings plugin when you had FH v5.0.11 installed?
Is there a different backup folder that you might have used for saving FH v6.2.7.0 backups?
With File Explorer, look in the folders where you make backups to see if there is more than one Family Historian folder.
You say "FH Backup and Settings is dated 13 Dec 2021" but what exactly are you looking at?
If this cannot be resolved quickly then we may need screenshots of the folders you copied from the old PC.
