Hi Mike
You are right, so moved the FH Woodcocks Backup folder out of Joan's Family Tree folder and put it where it should belong with the other Backup folders. Not sure how that got there!!

Tried to delete the Joan's Family Tree folder but now saying the admin. of the computer can only delete the files. I am the admin!! See screenshot.

I see what you are saying about having one specific default folder for all backups so have made a new folder and named it FH BACKUPS and backed up all three projects to it. Assume I can now delete the singular backup folders?

Getting there slowly ..........

Oh, dear! How strange!
It is not actually saying "admin" but DESKTOP-V301J03.
Is that the PC you are working on, or some other PC?
(If not sure then use Start > Settings > System > About and check the Device name under Device specifications.)

Does OneDrive sync with some other PC anywhere?
Have you waited until OneDrive has stopped Syncing and then used Try Again?

If still no luck then right-click Joan's Family Tree, choose Properties and open the Security tab.
Select your username (2chop) in the upper list and post a screenshot of that Properties window.

Hi Mike
Yes Desktop V301J03 is the PC I'm working on. OneDrive doesn't really sync with any other PC. I have a laptop which I use, usually when I'm away. I had OneDrive apps on my phone and iPad, which are now deleted. I tried again to delete the folder and got the following error message - please see screenshot.

I did try File Explorer after it had stopped syncing but got the same result. I was able to delete the Public folder.
Please see screenshot.

That is a very different error message for a different folder, but may give a clue to a solution.

Navigate down into that Joan's Family Tree.fh_data folder and try deleting each of its sub-folders one by one.
i.e. Books, Cache, Charts, etc.
If any of those say they are not empty then navigate down and delete their subfolders one by one.
Eventually, hopefully, you should be able to delete the folders one by one from the bottom up.

Mike
Thank you for your help, so far.
All is back on Family Historian as it should be.
I was able to delete the Joan's Family Tree folder in File Explorer without needing to navigate to the C: Drive. I re-named the folder Joan's Family Tree (3) without any problem.
Regards
Joan

OK, that is good.
You now need to create a new Medium Backup of Joan's Family Tree because its name has changed.

So now all your FH related folders and files should be within C:\Users\2chop\OneDrive - Personal\

To avoid any future mix-ups it would be wise to delete the following duplicate folders:
C:\Users\2chop\OneDrive - Personal\Documents\Family Historian Projects
i.e. Delete that Family Historian Projects folder and all its subfolders & files.

C:\Users\2chop\Documents\Family Historian Projects
i.e. Delete that Family Historian Projects folder and all its subfolders & files.

Likewise, delete any Family Historian Backups or FH Backup&Restore folders within those Documents folders.

Do NOT delete the Documents folder itself.

Mike
Thank you so so much for helping me to sort out a complete mess. I have deleted loads of files, which is scarey especially when OneDrive pops up and says you have deleted 3,000 odd files, but File Explorer is looking a lot tidier now, and I can now get back my One Name Study. I also took the chance to go through the folders and delete a lot of items over 4/5 years old.
Again thank you very much and best wishes for 2022.
Kind regards
Joan

Actually, it's saying more than that Mike, it is saying DESKTOP-V201J03\2chop (the name of the user), suggesting that perhaps someone other than 2chop is trying to do these actions.
Has there perhaps been a new user profile created that is almost a duplicate of 2chop ?
I have seen this happen on PC's, where it creates a temporary user.
It might explain why all this project stuff has happened.
Have a look in an explorer window at C:\Users to see if there are any new names or a duplication of 2chop
