Hi,
I'm new to FH. I have a lot of my media files as external, but I suspect I may have embedded some - how do I find out, please? I see there's a media query which lists all media, is there a field in the multimedia object that will tell me where it's located, please? Or is there some more obvious way to find out, without having to look at everybody in my tree individually?
Many thanks
Isabel

Re: FH7 media file embedded query?
Hi Isabel.
I suspect you misunderstand what embedded media means.
It is Media files embedded within the GEDCOM file and makes it VERY large and that is not recommended in FH.
Anyway, FH v7.0 and GEDCOM 5.5.1 do not support embedded Media so you cannot have any.
What you may be referring to is internal Media files held within the FH Project folder structure.
There are various ways of identifying where your Media files are located.
Use the Tools > External File Links... command and review the File Links pane.
Media listed within Project Data Folder - Media are located within your Project folder, which is identified in Current Project Folder above.
Media listed as being in the C: drive, or any other drive letter, are external to your Project folder.
Alternatively, click the Media camera icon in the toolbar and choose View All Media to open the Media Window.
That shows all your Media Records on the left and all the Media file thumbnails on the right.
In the Media Records the File column identifies where they are located.
Those that start Media\ are located within your Project folder, otherwise they are external.
