* Ghosts in the All Relatives Diagram

I've noticed some 'ghost entries' in the All Relatives Diagram.

At first I thought I'd corrupted my database so I was quite relieved to see the same issue in the demonstration database as can be seen in the below image in which Charles William Smith Munro is duplicated.

I'm using 7.0.3

Any idea what caused this and how to resolve it please?

These are Proxy boxes, which are used to show where an ancestor fits among his/her siblings. They only appear in All Relatives diagrams but are particularly useful if you are using the 'flat' style, as you are, because without them it would not be clear where the ancestor fits within the chronological order of siblings.

If you don't want the Proxy boxes to be shown you can hide them, or control the conditions under which they appear, using Diagram>Options>Proxies tab. Click the Help button in that tab for more information about proxy boxes.

Lorna, many thanks! I've taken the option to remove the proxy boxes, but note that there's still a dotted line. Is there an option to remove that as well?

You can use Diagram Options>lines tab and set Crossing Lines to be Solid instead of Dotted. Personally I like the dotted style because it helps to distinguish these crossing lines from other horizontal lines in the chart, but it's a matter of personal preference.

Try the Layered instead of the Flat style to see if you prefer it.

thanks for the suggestion, Mike- At the moment, I think I prefer Flat over Layered but it's good to have a choice!
