Making use of Flags

Post by joe81au » 03 Mar 2021 16:35

I seem to be missing something, although I have searched forum topics and the KB.

Lets say I set a flag for the immigrant ancestor. Can I then use the T/F value of that flag to see that information when working in FH? Can I for example set a text color for the name, or Set a background color in a property box?

How do I make use of having set the flag?

Joe, you are not the first to ask for the ability to conditionally colour text, background, etc, in the Property Box.
However, there is no such feature in FH for record Flags or any other condition you might think of.

So, what can you do with record Flags?

It is possible to customise the Property Box to show the Flag name with a tick against it when enabled.
It can also be included in the name caption across the top of the Property Box.

In Diagrams, the colour/font of any text or box features such as background colour or an icon can be conditional on a Flag.

In Reports, the state of a Flag can be mentioned.

In Queries, the state of a Flag can be reported or tested.
