Asterisk with "has own or shared page" in Website Index
Have just updated my Website based on my FH project, first time under V7. Each name in the Index has a small asterisk, leading to a note at the bottom " Has own or shared page". I would like to get rid of the asterisks and the note - is this possible? Since all the names in my Index have the asterisk, it adds nothing. Thanks.

Welcome to the FHUG Arthur.
There does not appear to be an option to control that in the Publish > Website wizard.
You could report the problem to Calico Pie via their http://www.calico-pie.com/osticket/open.php support service.
If you know your way around HTML you could edit the _nameindex.html and remove the asterisk components.
Eventually, if CP don't provide a solution, it could become a feature of my 'Improve Website or CD DVD HTML' plugin to remove them.

Thanks - looks like it's related to the "Select or not" option in the list of records for preparing the website. The small print does explain that not selecting does not exclude a record, just means it doesn't have its own page. Looks like selecting generates the asterisk.

Yes, that is correct. Individuals selected will get their own web page and an asterisk.
Any references to other Individuals in those selected Individuals details will be listed without an asterisk.
But you have no control over excluding the asterisk when everyone is selected.
The only options are as I suggested earlier.

Arthur,
There is another option here, but this solution comes with a number of caveats:
Having said that, this is a fairly simple script, so you might wish to try it.
Hope this helps (and that it works for you as it does for me

There is another option here, but this solution comes with a number of caveats:
- It uses Javascript to modify the output at the time it is displayed.
- It is inextricably tied to the format that FH generates for the index page - for example, the asterisk is currently rendered in a tag. If that changes, the script will no longer work.
- Javascript is not for everyone - who wants yet another language to help tweak FH output?
Having said that, this is a fairly simple script, so you might wish to try it.
- Copy the file that I have attached (adjust_index_page.js) into/Packages/your package name/data files/_custom (or wherever you put your custom files).
- In step 8 of the wizard, click advanced and insert the following at the end of the body section:
- Rebuild your site.

I updated my web site yesterday and these asterisks don't look good. I opened the index page in Notepad and replaced * with nothing, and removed the final line at the end. This took less than a minute to do. Pity you can't toggle it in the software.

Has anyone reported the problem to CP?
