FH v7 - Missing Event/Fact Media

Post by arneko » 28 Dec 2020 20:16

When I am using report Descendants by Generation or the report Individual Narrative all my pictures connected to a Event are not showing in the report.

I have changed the amount og how many pictures that can be used, but nothing helps.
The fact sentence are printed, but the picture is not in the report.

What is wrong ? :?

Have you ticked the 'Other' pictures option?

Are the pictures actually linked to the Events or are they linked to the Citations or the Sources linked to the Events?

Please post a screenshot similar to the one below, for a fact where the More column has media icons circled in blue.
Click the Show Media button circled in blue.
Then untick the Include Source Record Media and Include Citation Media options circled in red.
If any picture remains then it is linked directly to the Event and included in Other Pictures in Reports.
The Source/Citation Media can appear in the later Sources section in Reports.

Have you checked the next page or two after the one attached below?
The pictures in the Report are often NOT next to the sentence for the fact.
So that 'missing' picture may appear on later pages in the Report.

Hello again.
Yes I have cheked it and the picture is not there, but now I have found the problem.

If the fact include witness in the witness box, and the witness is the person that is the focus person. Then the picture is not showing.

If I removed the witness and then the picture is showing in the report.

My FH database is imported from my TMG database, so when the person is a witness as "principal2" in his own fact registrted on the person, then the picture is now showing if the person is a witness. Removing him as a witness then the picture is showing.

See picture in post 12.

Perhaps this is a bug that FH staff should examing more out. Perhaps this is only a problem if you import another database into FH ex. TMG.

Well spotted.
FH V6 correctly shows Fact pictures when the Principal is their own Witness to the Fact.
FH V7 does not show Fact pictures in that case and that is a new fault in FH V7.

You are correct that it is more likely to happen with imports from another product.

However, it should be reported to Calico Pie via their http://www.calico-pie.com/osticket/open.php support ticket system.
