Research Notes and Source Citations

Post by arishmell » 24 Dec 2020 07:47

I have been creating Research Notes to which I have added Source Citations (eg a page from a Parish Register). When viewed from the Notes Tab of the Property Box, the Source Citation is visible. When the same Research Note is opened from the main Research Notes tab no Source Citation is shown, simply a yellow pane with the word 'Not' in the middle of it. This doesn't seem logical to me.

Researching:
Waycott, Fewings, Piper, Burgoyne, Johns, Phillips, Paddon, Streat;
Morrish, Rowd*n, Pike, Lowder, Flood, Parsons and others.
All in glorious Devon!

Yes, that anomaly has always existed in FH.
Even though almost every record type can have Source Citations, only some have an active Sources For yellow pane.
The ones that do are Individual, Family, Note, and now in FH V7 Media records.

You could report those omissions to Calico Pie via http://www.calico-pie.com/osticket/open.php.

There is a partial workaround by customising the Main tab with the Source data reference %_RNOT.TEXT.SOUR[1]%
Then the cog menu lets you Select, Clear, or Go To a Source.
