I am investigating whether the new research note can be used to replace the separate software I currently use for researching. I have created some research notes that are not attached to an individual by using menu (Add>Add Research Note).
Once created I am trying to edit them by double clicking on selected note from the list of research notes (View>Research Notes). Is there another way to edit research notes as all the rich text features are not displayed using this approach. I have looked in preferences but cannot see a switch for this.
As always with new versions it is difficult to see whether I am just missing the obvious!

Re: Research Notes
Double clicking will open the Property box for the Research note. If you then double click in the Text box it will open in a separate floating window with all the rich text features.

Re: Research Notes
As a follow on question is there an easier way to add a new Research Note. Using Add>Add Research Note is a bit cumbersome as there does not appear to be a shortcut or a single click option either in the toolbar or in the Individual's Property Box. I appreciate that it is only a couple of clicks extra but I find it far quicker to click an icon rather than having to use a dropdown from a menu. I seem to recall that TMG used to have a more intuitive way of recording Research Notes.

Re: Research Notes
It partly depends on whether you want a free-standing Research Note record or want it linked to another record.
The options are much the same as have always existed for a shared Note record.
In almost any Property Box on the Notes tab, there is Add Note > Shared Research Note which allows an existing Research Note or a New one to be chosen. But is still not a single click.

Thanks Mike. Just wanted to make sure that I hadn't missed something.
