* FH7 'Hidden' improvement

I am very pleased with many of the improvements in FH7, especially as I have now got used to a slightly different way of working with the citation window. Just in case anyone is not aware there is a very helpful improvement on the map function. In FH6 I found if I entered a place without a georeference and mapped it, the Marker was someway off the Cross, and before zooming in I dragged the map so the Marker lined up with the Cross, and if zooming right in this needed to be done three times. Now if you click the button Markers towards the top right, it automatically aligns the two and you can zoom straight in. I find this much easier and very welcome, as is remembering who you were last working on.

I do not know what you mean by a change to Map features. The Icon top right has always been there, and allows one to drag the marker, and position it exactly. As far as I can see, nothing appears to have changed in this regard.
BTW If you right click on a place name, select Locate on map, the map position is adjusted to place icon on the crosshairs.

BEWARE To Zoom in from there. you must use the slider on the map, Not the mouse wheel, which tends to move map dependant on location of Mouse Pointer

I think you missed my point of trying let people know it is now much quicker in FH7 it is to zoom in on a map. If you create a place without a georeference you will get something like this.

In FH6 I was then dragging the map so the marker was in line with the cross then using the slider to zoom in. Because of the lack of precision at the large scale I had to do that a couple of times. Now you just click the button Marks and you get this with the marker and the cross automatically aligned, from which you use the slider to zoom right in which is much quicker.

it is even quicker to right-click the place or fact on left and choose Locate in Map which was also in FH V6.

Are you saying you have NEVER right-clicked any place or fact on the left

Yes, achieved what I wanted to do by other routes.

Not wishing to steal Mikes thunder, but I did mention the right click in my reply, only I failed to highlight it like Mike

If you were not aware of that method, are you aware that you can actually drag the place name, and place it directly on the Map?
Expand the map so it clearly shows the location of the place to want to mark, then simply drag the name from the left colum, and place it on the map exactly where you want it. This will also adjust the geocoding automatically.
If you have lots of ?s in your list of places, but know exactly where they should be , this method works a treat.

Well aware of that, I often drag place names on to the map. As they say, you learn something everyday.
