Is there a way to change the colour of the text of the records of a named list?
I have a named list for the ancestors of the husband and a separate named list for the ancestors of the wife.
My goal is to colour the text of the husband ancestors in blue and colour the text of the ancestors of the wife in red.
Thanks, Eldon

Re: Text colour for records in named lists
Welcome to the FHUG Eldon.
The concept of colouring text is not to do with Plugins, which are a feature associated with the Tools > Plugins command.
( See plugins:index|> Family Historian Plugins for details. )
So I've moved this posting to the FH General Usage Forum that is more appropriate.
I am not entirely clear where you want the text colours to appear.
Anyway, it is not possible to colour text that appears in the Named List pane or the Records Window.
The expanded text colour identifies the type of record (Individual blue, Source red, Media purple, etc.)
The global record colour can be changed, but not specific records.
Anyway, the name of the Named List should be enough to identify which is which.
I wonder if you are talking about changing the colour of those two ancestor branches elsewhere in FH displays.
You can conditionally change the colour of text, boxes, etc, in Diagrams.
You can signal those two branches in other ways in the Property Box of each person (but not using colour).
Please explain in more detail where you want to differentiate those two ancestor branches.

I wanted to change the text colour so that when those records appear in the individual list they will be colour coded. At least I now know it cannot be done.
Thank you Mike.

Re: Text colour for records in named lists
What you can do in the Records Window for Individuals is add a column to indicate the ancestral branch of each person, governed by their membership of a Named List. Would that be a useful substitute for colours?
i.e. The column could display Husband or Wife or nothing as appropriate.

Re: Text colour for records in named lists
Are you familiar with customising Records Window columns and using the =IsInList(%INDI%,"Named List") and perhaps the =TextIf(...) functions?
e.g.
Expression: =TextIf( IsInList(%INDI%,"Husband"), "Husband", TextIf( IsInList(%INDI%,"Wife"), "Wife", "" ) )
e.g.
Expression: =TextIf( IsInList(%INDI%,"Husband"), "Husband", TextIf( IsInList(%INDI%,"Wife"), "Wife", "" ) )
